Feedstock, Production, and Supply Technical Working Group (TWG)

Feedstock, Production, and Supply Technical Working Group (TWG)

To lead, collaborate and engage stakeholders to participate actively in these workstreams focus on technical feasibility, feedstock analysis, and technology readiness for SAF production

    • Conduct regional feedstock assessments for availability, sustainability, and compliance with international standards (e.g., CORSIA, ReFuelEU).

    • Evaluate greenhouse gas (GHG) savings potential of eligible feedstocks.

    • Analyze feedstock supply chains to ensure long-term availability.

    • Assess technology readiness levels (TRLs) for SAF production pathways such as HEFA, Power-to-Liquid, Biomass-to-Liquid, and Alcohol-to-Jet.

    • Conduct lifecycle assessments (LCA) for carbon intensity certification.

    • Identify innovation potentials and cost-reduction strategies for SAF technologies.

    • Develop conceptual designs and high-level cost estimates.

    • Conduct risk assessments for technical, commercial, and regulatory aspects.

    • Simulate techno-economic models and optimize SAF production processes.

    • Evaluate scalability and integration with existing infrastructure.

Key Milestones - Short, Mid and Long-term

Focus:  Technical feasibility  |  Feedstock analysis  |  Process optimization

2025 - 2027
  • Conduct comprehensive feedstock mapping and sustainability assessments.

  • Identify and validate suitable SAF production technologies (e.g., HEFA, Power-to-Liquid).

  • Complete lifecycle assessments (LCA) to ensure compliance with international standards like CORSIA.

2028 - 2030
  • Develop pilot-scale SAF production facilities using locally sourced feedstocks.

  • Optimize supply chain logistics for feedstock collection and transportation.

  • Establish quality assurance protocols for SAF certification.

2031 - 2050
  • Scale up production technologies to commercial levels.

  • Achieve a minimum of a 50% reduction in lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional fuels.

  • Ensure integration of SAF into existing fuel infrastructure.
